Revisiting HellCase

About 2 years ago, i thought up the characters Volt 12. and Cherub and tried to write a basic premise for a noir type comic, i had always had the name HellCase in mind.

When it came down to it, Im pretty shite at writing... however my good friend Benjamin 'Jam' Prince is very talanted in this particular department, 2 and 2 together makes a writer/illustrator team.

Now in all honesty i feel a bit of a prick on this end, as the ORIGINAL draft was written by Ben waaaaaaaaaay back in early '09 and im STILL only on page 4 out of 38, and this is just the first issue! I keep telling myself its due to other constraints which in fairness is mostly true, but i owe Ben alot more than he credits for.

either way, back story aside, heres a look at the first 3 pages.

Stereodeth!!

Well... Uni is awesome, there is so much going on here and lots of different places to get ideas from!

I have decided i want to get a jump on the whole commercial art thing, making (and actually selling!) full size/colour art prints, working for bands, etc etc. I came to the conclusion that it would be a good idea to work in collaboration with other artists of varying styles, but always hovering around brutal horror imagery.
so with this in mind, i am looking for dedicated artists with a love of metal and horror to join me on this, we would all be working under the name Stereodeth.

Yeah okay, ive droppped the ball majorly on this blog, but im hoping to give it some what of a revival in the uni years, not at all to say im leaving it now though.

well this is the first of 8 drawings i have to do for a university summer project, (lets see...15th of september now.... deadline 22nd of september....and...i...havent...finished the first.....ah). The question for this one is 'What is your favourite genre of music?' and there can be as much beating around the bush as you want, the "oh i do like classical alot..." or shit like that, but when it comes down to it, nothing beats metal, at all. EVER.

for the image i took a little inspiration from the 1984 album Ride the Lightning, good old metallica. one of my favourite tracks from this album was Creeping Death and this obviously brings up ideas of egypt, and what more metal that a screaming evil mummy?

Skull Poster Update

okay so this is my drawing board at current, as I am looking at it right now. I think after this it might be the last thing i do with skulls for a while haha, maybe move onto moths next after a few commissions.

Either way, hopefully this is final rendition of the diver skeleton if everything goes to plan this will be my addition to the posters for Mekanique, if not, heck it was brush and ink practice!
